20 ppc loads

Hello,
I just purchased a benchrest style 20 ppc rifle. I have no load data and it seems scarce. My questions are
1. Can I buy 22 ppc norma brass and neck size 20 ppc dies and simply neck down or should I but 220 russian and buy a full length die jam shoot etc?
2. I have 39 grain blitz kings and n133 and varget. Does anyone have a known good load with these? I see they are the optimal powders but dont see a lot of actual data.
Im aware that every rifle is different and that I will need to do load development.

I have a 20 Russian. It's built on a Panda action with a Krieger barrel.
It shoots very well with 25gr LT32 and a 35gr Berger. Please let us know what action. I would not recommend the same load data for a Remington or Howa that I would for a custom action.

There are some .20ppc loads listed on the main page in the .20 cal section. They were also using varget with a 40gr which might be worth a try?

Tommie, here are my results from today...keep in mind that this is a 20PPC Ackley and the loads for my rifle may not be suitable for you in yours. The CFE did well and had good velocity...my only complaint is that it doesn't have what I consider a good "case fill". I actually started out at 28grns and went up to 31grns...31 was where I started to get slightly heavy bolt lift and I didn't go any farther with it. It seemed to have 2 nodes and did the best groups at the higher node. These were all 3 shot groups at 100yds, I used 6 pieces of brass throughout testing and Rem 7 1/2...

roadkill61, Western Powders load data gives 20PPC loads in both 59K PSI and 63K PSI categories and lists A2520 as a powder of choice for the 20PPC. I would say that their extensive testing would eliminate any issues with over pressure problems in both of those PSI categories and certainly one would think their data would be on the conservative side. Also it would stand to reason that the data is not extrapolated data but actual test data.
As has always been said...when all else fails...READ THE MANUAL. Western Powders manual has a few good wildcat cartridges listed for load data. Here is...

Yeah, they screwed up the search function on the last site update… about the time the ad bumping started….

Google is where I go to now for most of my searches…

Be aware 22 PPC Norma brass necked down works in a .231 neck chamber so take that into consideration. It will be around .2285 loaded.
I think Alpha PPC brass is the same neck thickness as Norma and if that thickness works for you I would use Alpha.
If your neck chamber is bigger than .231 I would go Lapua route.
