20 BRAI @ 600 yards

The other day while tuning my 6.5x47 at 1k I decided to see how the 20 BRAI shot at 600 at 25* cooler temps than where I had it tuned at.
Not too bad but it’s done much better with the right tune.

What weight bullet and barrel twist. I have a 20 BR really like it. Mines an 11 twist shooting 40g Amax 3975. Fun to shoot Prarie dogs with.

I shot this group with my 20 Nitro (20BRAI) doing load development about 4 years ago.
Don't know if I could do it again

Nice shooting at 600. Well under 1/2 MOA and a pretty good shape to the group. Bet that would tune right in even smaller if you wanted to play with it.

I recently finished building a 20 PPC with a .232” no turn neck using Norma 6ppc USA brass in a 10” twist barrel. Hoping to shoot it soon. Will also be stretching it out to just over 600 yards for testing.

I think if custom bullet manufacturers like Roy, Barts and VT would make some high quality heavyweight 20 cal bullets, these bigger 20 cal BR and PPC based cartridges could give the 6mms a real run for their money in 600 yard competitions

Awesome shooting Stan! I suspect that if more competitors would adopt high BC .20 cal combinations, the supremacy of the 6mm might (at least) be re-evaluated. Glad to see folks thinking outside the box.

You misunderstand. Stan isn’t making the bullets, he is selling that entire turn key setup for $6k.

It has everything you need to make custom 50-55gr 20 cal bullets. And it’s one hell of a deal when you look at what it would cost to buy all that stuff new. The dies alone cost $5100.

Impressive. Built a 20 PPC on a Howa mini. Shooting 39gr sbk near 3900 and it has amazed me. 270 yard zero as it's a coyote rig and it will stack them into around 1.2 inches.
Have only just begun to shoot critters but I feel.like this will be the gun I always wanted.

Have only just begun to shoot critters but I feel.like this will be the gun I always wanted.

I looked at the 20PPC, was talked out of it as there was not much if any gain from the 204R.
