2 Lug vs. 3 lug? What are the hidden differences?

I have a 5 gallon bucket of empty cases. Where do I send them to find out which were shot in a 2lug and which were shot in a 3lug and which had poor ignition and which had good ignition.

If the number of lugs has no difference then why is there even a thread? Everyone goes into the subject in detail instead of just saying it's a non-issue.

When the subject of bolt lift effort was brought up, I turned the chair around and took two steps to the closet where I keep my Vudoo repeaters & one of the three V22S single shots. It's been a few months since I've taken one of the V22S rifles out to shoot, but my recollection was that there's little difference in bolt lift effort between gen 1 repeaters & the 22S. Well, a minute later, my memory was refreshed, and there's no doubt that the V22S bolt lift is a bit stiffer than that of the V22 repeater's. After making that comparison, there was little reason to get the Vudoo 360 out to compare it to the Gen 1 repeater. I will say that shooting the V22S off a one-piece rest, I've never thought that bolt lift took enough more effort to ever make a difference between the 2 & 3 lug actions. But shooting a NRL22 match last weekend with my 360 off bags (I forgot to bring the bipod) made me wonder a bit, as on some of the smaller targets, losing sight of them due to the extra effort might've very well made a difference in how quickly I was able to re-aquire the target in the scope. The rifle was slipping around more on bags than it would've been on a more solid bipod.

perhaps you can minimize this by how you control the bolt

example take the bolt and put your thumb behind the back of the bolt and gently oush the bolt forward and then close the bolt, there is a lot less movement side to side and up and down than if you cycled it like a hunting rifle

the rimfire br guys are much better at explaining this than I

I saw a tremendous difference in less rear bag movement and the rifle does not wish to twist out of the front bag as much

and I designed the JTR BR centerfire br stock made be robertson composites

I have little doubt that your bolt handling technique would be helpful in BR shooting. And mentioning my experience during last week's match could hardly have been a less valid comparison, since we were shooting under pretty tight time limits in improvised positions there, while time is much more generous in a RF BR match.
