1st time with norma brass...

7.5x55 swiss...

firat time ive ever messed with norma brass... i wasnt overly impressed. Lapua is way better.. but the norma is better than others as well.... havent tried nosler brass but ive heard its good...

this box of norma brass was like prepping winchester brass... even had this one case in it that quality control failed to pull out.... it was crushed in the machining stages for sure.. wasnt too happy as its not cheap brass...

I have had the odd one like that with Lapua to but the neck ding was not as pronounced , no big deal , it happens from time to time . I won't buy Nosler brass again , I got 50 .308 cases when Nosler first released their brass, primer pockets loosened up after 2 reloads.
When I first got my .260 Rem , all I could get at the time was REM brass, I found several cases that curly lengths of swarf inside the cases, one piece was about an 2 inches long and looked like the swarf that comes off a lathe cut, like a long brass pubic hair.
Rem brass is off my list to.
I have not long purchased 300 Norma .220 Swift cases all of them are very nice and there was the odd one or two that had slight neck dings.
Mike.

I had a box of 6.5 x 47 Lapua that was so bad I had to take NeedleNose pliers to open the case mouths in order to even get it in the die. Over 1/2 of the box was so badly damaged it had the shoulders literally crushed in. I spent a good while "fixing them" and once fired, they were perfect. EVERY manufacturer can have "trouble" from time to time. Worry not about the dimensional stability of the brass nor it's longevity>>>Norma makes excellent brass.

i had a bud that contacted lapua about a box of brass he got in for a 338 lapua... the brass was horribly messed up... they sent him a new box and he sent in the one he had for them to evaluate... sucks.. but they took care of him...

I sent Lapua an email.. I am still waiting for the reply.. However, I did contact Kevin Thomas and he gladly sent me 25 pieces. I was not after the brass, I was trying to alert him that there may be other boxes like this. I have NO COMPLAINTS about either Lapua or Norma. You can not go wrong with either..

Looks like QC was asleep at the wheel when they turned out that box of brass. Norma is actually some pretty good brass, though softer than Lapua and IMHO, not as good. Personally, I have a box of Norma for backup for most of my rifles. But even with Lapua, I go through every piece (deburring flashholes. etc) before fireforming just to be on the safe side and to eliminate potential boo boos like you found. Good luck with that new brass.
