1st match with my 1913 Anschutz

Not familiar with 249’s or 748’s just now getting into precision rimfire could you explain (thanks in advance)
That has to do with the scoring for iR50/50 a sanctioned organization. target is 25 scoring bulls one shot at each bull for a maximum score on10/X a perfect score is 250/25X and 750 / 75X for a match they shoot 3 targets for a match. 249 means one shot scored a 9 instead of 10 748 means two shots out of 75 score a 9

Fortunately I've won more matches with it than I've lost. It has our club record of 250-21X. I wish that I was as good as my Annie!

Butch,
When I was shooting my rimfire BR gun, ULA single shot action, that I got from Jason, I found it fairly easy to shoot 250's with RWS 50 and Center X ammo, but never got above 17 X's!! Shot matches at the Benton, AR range with the "old folks' shooters", a lot of fun.

I think I posted a photo of my Annie in the past. I got it from Jon Hammond the West Virginia coach and Jon shot it for the UK in Beijing in 2008. He went to the factory and they hand picked both the barrel and receiver.

In the background is my close friend and rimfire buddy with my first RF BR rifle. The KK300 Walther that I based it on came from the WVU asst. rifle coach. Gerald wins or is in the top 3 with it,

Wait a minute!!! Haha. Was that at Fred's Rimfire Ridge ARA range near Benton, AR or was that at the Benton Gun Club?

EDIT: I just looked at the Benton Gun Club's website and they have an "Old Friends" match. I'll assume that's the match you attended since, while some are older than others, the shooters at Rimfire Ridge are not all "old folks" ;)

PWN,
It is the Old Friends match at Benton. I have never been to Fred's Rimfire Ridge range, always want to but things just didn't work out. I'm pretty sure the rifle I own shot there before I purchased it though. And at 79, I'm an old folk!!

@JoeMcNeill you should do your best to get there for a match. It's one of the nicest rimfire BR facilities I've shot at. I think @butchlambert should try to get over there too. I drive over from the Dallas area. I know Butch is in my general area. So maybe he can make the trip sometime

Lee, I was fortunate to have Joe Besche tune mine. It has been pretty easy to keep in tune with Midas+ and X-ACT.
Joe was my inspiration to build an Anschutz. he and along with Mike Cameron (Suhl) was the basis to try and get a factory-based rifle to shoot and compete.
