1st ever November groundhog

Got my first ever November groundhog yesterday. Its been a cold wet fall here in Michigan, beans-hay are gone so it's easy to spot them. To bad the weather has them denning up already. Sure do hope we get a nice sunny day soon id like to get a few more good hunts in. Numbers are down this year due to work schedule only 83 this season. This one was playing hide and seek and I thought I lost him when he popped up 50 yards to my right easy off hand shot for most people I was lucky to hit it with my shaky old a$$. Didn't have my phone with me so had to wait till this morning to take a picture of him in the back of my truck sorry nothing very impressive.
Hope everybody's had a great groundhog season 2 bad it is winding to an end

Congrats,have not seen a woodchuck here in more than a month . I do see them when we still have patches of snow in the spring though.10 below zero with windchill today,C'mon spring.

I saw 4 of the little dirt diggers this past Thursday. Can't wait til next summer gets here to start whacking them again. Been over 2 years since I pulled a gun out of the safe.

Today in southeastern PA doing some touch ups on tree stands and saw three and man are they FAT!

Shot one Sunday morning with a .45. Around here, November isn't a big month for hunting chucks, but the ones you do get are BIG and fat and make a very distinct thump when hit. WD

Not as spectacular as one might think. At about 25-30 feet its a good thing that it was a well placed (lucky) shot. He had enough left in him that he could have charged me with anything less than a well placed shot. WD
