I went with a 6.5x47L with .150 FB (purchased on here) The blank was 27” Sedero but I was doing it for my son’s Kelbly Atlas (also acquired on here) and he wanted it lighter and quicker to maneuver so it wound up 21”. Cutting 5” off a new barrel hurt my feelings but it’s what he wanted. I am going to post some pics but keep in mind I am neither a machinist nor a photographer.
I have no power flush system yet so this was a manual feed .025-.040” at a time remove, clean, oil and go again.
After break in which consisted of 1 shot/clean four times I checked the leade with scope and majority of reamer marks were almost gone and fouling was clearing up. At this point I put the scope on it and got it in the bags. Shot #5 was high and left, moved scope, shots #6&7 were touching. Cleaned barrel and thoroughly dried the bore. This is where it get interesting , shots 8,9 & 10 were all in the same hole as #6&7!!! This was with my remaining Berger 130 vld hunting bullets and h-4350 at 100 yards. I am thrilled. I gues this ain’t too shabby for a 1967 South Bend H10.
A BIG thank you all who encouraged me thru this!
Kevin

Pics are out of order, it’s like finishing before you even start but I don’t know how to rearrange them??
Y’all were right no “VOODOO “ involved.

Looks like you are a machinist. Obviously you had your own thoughts in your head with your floater clamp. Can you give us some more details? Great job!

I think what you are referring to as a “floater clamp” is only flat stock machined to fit the tailstock collar so the indicator can measure travel. The floater is MT2. The markings on the tailstock are not near fine enough for this. Maybe a better pic will make more sense?

Doh' how'd I miss that. Not sure what I was seeing. I use a handle on the reamer to feel what I'm doing and to keep the floater from bottoming on the retaining screws. I assumed the aluminum piece was taking that job.

And those Atlas actions are so smooth, LanceXXX built him and his son 2 6.5 Creedmore twins , on 2 Atlas Actions , and I can't believe how they cycle seems like they have been timed to perfection ! I don't believe any of my BR actions are any better, and they both shoot lights out.

I agree, I picked this up for my son mainly to hunt with and was very surprised and impressed at the timing, smoothness and accuracy of this action. "Kelbly's" are quality no matter what action it is.
