1994 Ruger M77 Mark II 338 Win Mag w/boat paddle stock value?

Hoping to get some honest opinions/feedback from some of you long time members on a rifle I just acquired in a trade deal. I've never had a big magnum caliber like this before and don't know much about them other than what I've been reading about this caliber today. It sounds like I'd better be prepared for some pretty stout recoil though.

I looked it up via it's serial# and it's a 1994 manufactured date, Ruger M77 Mark II in 338 Win Mag with a Leupold straight 12X 40mm AO scope on it.

As the story goes, the original owner bought it and had it in the safe for many, many years and never took it out West to hunt with like he had hoped and planned to and never even fired it before it was purchased by his friend who only shot one box, 20 rounds of ammo, through it getting it sighted in, etc and into another safe it went for the last several years. I brought out to my local FFL guy, local gun store owner and he looked it over really well and says it has been shot very little by the looks of the bolt head, etc so if the story is true, and you never know about such stories, it may indeed have only one box of shells through it.

There was one just like it (no idea on manufacture date though) that sold on Gunbroker just today for $805, plus shipping, etc and it wasn't as nice as the one I've got as it had a few noticeable blemishes, etc on it and it was just the bare gun only. So what's this worth as the whole gun/scope combo? I'm hoping it's in the $1100-$1200 range but I want some honest evaluations from those much more experienced than me with these big calibers. Thanks.

Here's a few pics of it.

Throw it on GunBroker and see what happens. I've seen that model in good condition go anywhere from $800-$1100 without scope depending on chambering. You could probably sell the scope on the forum here for a couple hundred if I had to guess. Being a fixed 12x will likely limit interest, but I'm sure 80% of the posters in the ".222s, show us yours" thread would be happy to have it on their vintage Sako or Remington...
