1949 Unertl 20x

I recently found my grandfather-in-law's Unertl 20x scope bought in 1949 with original bill of sale. He paid $80.80 for it!

I want to try and mount it up on his 1903a3 he bought for $15 in 1948...still has the bill of sale for it too!

Very nice. I own a couple on Hiwalls. a 36X Programmer on a Borchardt Target Rifle.

That is one classic piece of issue! Beautiful condition. If the Springfield is in the same kind of shape (or any reasonable condition), you might want to leave it alone, though. Military '03s in original dress are getting harder and harder to come by. That Unertl would look great on a low wall/high wall varmint rifle . . . .
