1911 barrel compensator advice needed

For cosmetic purposes only, look into one that combines the barrel bushing with a compensator/muzzle break. It may even work to some degree also.

Should work, but as affective. Also what type is it, a bushing replacement comp or one that threads on the barrel. I have one on a 45 acp (it was one made by Springfield Armory as a kit), had to fit the barrel and everything. Threaded barrel type, it works as it should, it really shines with a reduced a reduced load that functions reliably. One last note, ensure the recoil spring matches your slide mass and the type of load you are shooting. Otherwise reliability will suffer or you will beat up your frame.

Go for it.

A bushing replacement

Should work fine, just note that they are not as effective as a compensator that threads on the barrel. If it needs fitted to your barrel and slide , all the better to help maintain accuracy, ensure you have proper clearances for function. They do have that look about them.
