Anyone have any experience with the Advantage Arms 1911T Conversion Caliber, 22LR, 1911T?
How was the accuracy, reliability, fitment to thier 1911 frame, durability, .etc

Thanks,
Tim

Knotwild, thanks for the info, I will check them out. Years ago I had a Colt Ace, sold it then picked up a Kimber conversion and sold it. Have a complete frame I had built for the Kimber and now it just sets.

Thank you
Tim

If you haven't yet, look at the Nelson conversion. Over the last 30 years I've owned 3 Marvel unit ones. I replaced 3 firing pins, extractors, a bad barrel, and a cracked slide. All at my expense.
For the last 5 years I owned 2 Nelson conversions. Zero issues, none. Accurate and more reliable than my stable of Ruger MKII's. Which is remarkable.

Both brands have been very accurate and totally reliable, even8 when moved from frame to frame. From extensive 50 yard Ransom testing, I'd give a slight accuracy edge to the Marvels. The first was outstanding, the second was very poor & was eventually replaced, the third was only average but my hits were close enough to my call to not upset me. Out of my hand, the difference was not measurable.

Both Nelsons are far more than accurate enough for my current ability...tremor issues, but still shooting.

Forgot to mention, these were all used in Bullseye training & competition. 10-20,000 rds per year the first 20+ years, hovering at about 5,000/year the last 5.

I realize that both the Marvel and Nelson conversions are considered tip-top. I've always considered getting one of them, but after years of actual field use shooting ground squirrels when out with a CF rifle as the primary arm, my two Kimber RF conversions in 5" and even 3" configuration have been entirely accurate enough for hits on the rats past 50 yards.

Don't compete, but for field use (what I do), both seem accurate enough for my use. Seen before here, but this jack tore through our 'rat camp' and stopped at 52 paces for the typical "look back". Fatal mistake.

Kimber Compact Conversion, WW Power Point HP. Don't know how a Nelson or Marvel could have fared much better. Just sayin'.

I'm a Nelson fan. When I mounted their slide on my lower there were minor functional issues. Called Nelson, they suggested I send the lower plus the slide to them for diagnosis and remedy. Turned out the issue was my in lower which they repaired for the cost of parts. From me to them and back was less than 10 days. Hard to argue with customer service that fixes a problem that is not because of their equipment so that I had a functional 1911-22. Should add that prior to getting the Nelson conversion I had unsuccessfully tried both Marvel and Kimber units, and that my intended purpose was Bullseye competition.
