1907 Husqvarna restored

I have restored a 1907 Husqvarna that was nearly destroyed during an LA fire.
01. I cock the hammer manually without the slide, pull the trigger, click, perfect.
02. I mounted the slide cocked the hammer, pulled the trigger, click, perfect.
03. I loaded 3 DUMMY rounds into the magazine, pull the slide back, locking the hammer, pull the trigger, click, perfect.
04. I loaded 4 live (380) rounds into the magazine, pull the slide back, load a live round into the breach, pull the trigger,,,nothing. I repeated this numerous times,,,no click no bang. I disassembled and reassembled the gun three more times. I get the exact same result every time. Help?

Pics of the gun will help. How hot did it get? I wonder if it’s lost any hardening it had. Is the firing pin moving? How far did you strip it down? Was it rechambered to 380?

The 9X20 headspaces on the semi-rim of the cartridge; the .380 ACP headspaces on the case mouth. If your extractor is not holding the .380 cartridge firmly enough against the breech face, the firing pin may not impart enough energy to ignite the primer. The chamber originally machined to accept a 20MM casing, when modified to accept the .380 ACP may allow too much depth for the 17MM rimless casing.
Sage advice by all above! More research needed.

Are you sure the slide is all the way forward? There is a 'disconnector' in those. Make sure it is still free.

When you say 'cocked the hammer' you mean rack the slide?

What did you use for a dummy round? Snap cap or fired case?

No expert, but just because it clicks doesn't mean the firing pin mechanism is working.
Good Lord, the answer is so obvious as to be scary that I didn't think of it. THANKS. There is a firing pin and spring and moving not stuck. I filled in the back of a dummy round with plastic. Sure enough after cocking and releasing, no firing pin mark in the plastic. I repeated for times, no mark. THANKS AGAIN. Now maybe you can answer this. Does the pin that holds the firing pin come out the top of the slide or does it come out through the bottom of the slide? I'm having trouble getting it to move in either direction. Heat maybe the only solution. THANKS a third time though I appreciate what you told me to be worth at least a thousand THANKS.

Thanks my question was answered. Apparently the firing pin is worn down. I used both snap and spent rounds. I filled in the back of the snap and spent shell. I cocked the hammer (racking doesn't necessarily mean the hammer cocked) pulled the trigger. No firing pin mark. I repeated four times, no mark. Thanks for your input. lp

You are welcome! A friend of mine had one that I took apart and cleaned for him but it was about 20 years ago....... I had to use Google for instructions.

An old gunsmith trick for checking firing pin on auto pistols, Stick a #2 pencil down the barrel eraser first, Pull the trigger, Pencil should fly out of the barrel a couple feet high.

Make sure gun is unloaded first.
