185 juggernaut nodes

I have been looking for some information on nodes for the 185 juggernaut and can't find anything other than there being one around 2720-2750 and around 3020.

Is there anything between 2800 and 2950?

The 2720-2750 fps "node" corresponds to a .308 Win with a 30" barrel and a powder such as Varget. You're not going to hit any node in the 2800 to 2950 fps range with a typical .308 Win setup unless you use a double base powder or create a load that's stupidly hot. Accuracy nodes are largely dependent on the specific cartridge, powder selection, and barrel length. Perhaps providing more details about the specific cartridge and rifle setup you're using would help generate more responses.

I see. I think I was misunderstanding what variables can affect an accuracy node. The way I've seen many people talk about them, it makes it sound like a particular bullet in a particular speed range will usually be very accurate. It didn't make sense to me that it wouldn't be affected by powder choice or cartridge design.

This is for a 30-284, H20 cap around 68.75. shooting h4350.

Although I know what it is, I have no experience with that particular cartridge. It's fairly similar to a .30-06 in capacity although designed for a short action, but that's really all I know about it. I can't imagine why you wouldn't be able to push a 185 Jug well above 2800 fps with that cartridge using H4350. However, I have no idea what minimum barrel length would be necessary to do that at reasonable operating pressure and where in terms of velocity it might tune in. If you have a copy of QuickLoad reloading or Gordon's Reloading Tool [https://www.grtools.de/doku.php], you should be able to make some reasonable predictions. Alternatively, someone with experience loading the 30-284 might chime in with some better insight than I can offer.

I have used GRT quite a bit for this cartridge. It's actually an AI version.

My hunting load, which does happen to be very accurate, is 55.5gr h4350 with a velocity of about 2815. I hit pressure around 56.5. 24" 10tw barrel. I don't compete and don't have a custom gun, but thought I'd see what I can do with a load at a known node. I now realize that info may not exist for this cartridge since it is not popular as others are

I'm sure you can find a node in the low to mid 2800s with that setup, but it's not a spot that most people have tested. The 30-284 is kind of in between; the 30 magnums will run faster and the 308 cant reasonably reach into the 2800s. It should be pretty easy to find, you know where you're looking, it'll be there.

30 saum imp 2930fps with rl16 and cci250.
300 wsm 3010 fps with rl16 cci250.

I'm going to start working with the WSM and Juggs soon. I have a good bit of R16. What charge weights will get me in the ball park of 2900-3050 fps

My 30-284 shoots .3 moa with 185 Jugg and H4350 at 2790 node. Shoots same accuracy with 200.20x and H4350 at 2715 node. Just shot .860--1.020 5 sh groups at 300 yds last week.

Were would you expect that node to land it a 29" barrel and the same components?

Maybe just a tick slower...perhaps 2710-2740-ish. You might lose just a teeny bit of velocity with 1" less barrel, but it won't be much. It will also likely raise the pressure just a bit over what a 30" barrel would do at comparable velocity, but again, not a huge difference.
