18# gun for the 2k yard match

It be one of two reasons. Will let you decide which:
1. Scared to shoot against you...
2. Have little interest in PRS, so why trek +1500-miles to something I'm not interested in.

May see you in Montana then....

LMAO

You might recall where you replied "have fun at home"???

Well, I took that as a friendly invite/challenge for me to show up & shoot this ELR paper safari, while assuming I wouldn't.

Reckon I've got about as much interest in poking holes in paper for score, than you do to in practical rifle shooting. So, if you were 'calling me out' with the snippant remark, then inviting you out to shoot a match here seems a fair trade of interests?

Also, given that I'd have to fly across country + associated logistics to poke paper, I extended you the same opportunity to put some of YOUR skin in the game. Again, if in fact, you were 'calling me out' to show up, surely you'd be in a position to return the favor? I sure wouldn't ask something of someone without being prepared to do the same...

No worries, really! I shoot for fun (not trophies) and I can see how serious you get about your paper punching' and trophy collecting. Just sayin', don't be surprised when you throw a shot across someone's bow, and have one sent back... :)

If you were just being dismissive, then I'll give ya the last word, cuz I know how important that must be to you...

Y'all have fun out there!

some of us gave up playing in the mud and dirt long ago. have no desire to run/jog lug equipment across fields. none of which is shooting, just a game, a game we are not interested in playing. just ain't going to happen.
you have fun, we will pass.

Thats good to hear Tom. Just don’t bring your 6.5 !!!

Actually a large 6.5 at 3k or so can compete on most days at 2k. 2K does not automatically put you into 338 and up. 18 lbs comes quick with a quality scope. I am excited to get a chance to compete at this.

Are you planning or insinuating that your planning on having a shot at us ?? - LMAROF !!!

I guess the bigger question is why would someone make suggestions on a format they have no interest in? It's cool, as I think we'll have enough to fill a relay or 2 in every class. If not, we'll see what all shows, and eliminate the one's that don't have interest.

Tom

Thanks Tom !!
I want to Express My Personal gratitude to Both Yourself & Alex for all that you guys have done for this event. - I'm away from home at work over 190 days a year (offshore oil & gas) and as luck would have it I'm off most of the month of August. - I'm planning on 2 weeks up in Montana & I'm excited about both attending the IBS 1000 yd. Nationals & this E2k event. - I grew up in the Rocky Mountain Region and it will be great to get back up that way.

Wouldn't running a NF 12-42 require a 40 -50 MOA Base?

I would simply run one of mt bigger 1K match guns with one of my 5.5-22's. Or...my 338 EDGE Hunting gun...if I ever figure out how to get it back up and running!!

Sounds like fun,

Tod

@4xforfun
Myself hoping the "2000 Yard Match" becomes an annual thing, or even multiple matches in the future. With that, I will desire to be "optically centered", just as I am for 1000. Sure a person can "get by" sort to speak, but am aware of parallax and clarity issues that can be attributed to: at or near max adjustment (especially with some scopes that have a lot of elevation travel).

When I've shot at 1-mile and further, was always with 12-42 NF scopes, and would have greatly liked to have had more then 42-power. For spotting impacts primarily, but also for the ability to aim smaller. 2000yds is a long ways to aim accurately... lol
