17 REMINGTON FB WHICH ONE?
about to order a rem in 17FB but dont know which one?.either the SPS orVSF orSPS im leaning towards the VSF due to the h+s stock,but need advice as from those who are shooting these.also would redding s type dies with bushing give me good reloads.

I have a Remington Mdl 700 Limited CDL SF 17 Fireball. I adjusted the trigger pull down to three pounds and free floated the barrel. The action bolts were set at 40 in/lb. With Rem 20 Gr bullet factory ammo I get 3/4 inch five shot groups at 100 Yds. This past week I have shot 51 prairie dogs with the Fireball . The longest two shot were at about 275 Yds. The scope on it is a Leupold 6-18 X w/ AO. The rifle is sited in at 8/10 th inch high at 100 Yds, is on at 200 Yds. and about 5inches low at 300 Yds. I moved around so that I was shooting into the breez so I did not have to hold into a side wind when I made the shots at about 275 Yds. The 17 Fireball is a fun little rifle .

what pwds/bullet combo are you using can mach 1v data be used for reloads?,iv got lots of 17cal bullets that i use for my 17REM just maybe powder to buy.

Not a Remington,,,,,,,,,but I had a CZ527 rebarreled to 17FB by Pac-Nor. Started with H322, cause I had it on hand. The results were very good and I was going to just stop there, but I had heard good things about H4198 so I gave it a try. The results were even better!!!! After settling on 18.6gr behind 25gr Berger's I shot five, five shot groups well below moa with two of the five being less than .5 moa.
I'm not that good of a shot so if I can get results like that, it says alot for this powder.
Give the 4198 a try, and good luck with the new Remmy.
