17 Squirrel sniping the Groundhogs!

Well ive started the Groundhog Shooting for the season. CZ 527 17 Squirrel with Douglas Barrel is Putting the hurt on Groundhogs with 20 gr VMAX at 3400 fps. Kills from 48-222 yards so far.

Good friend of mines CZ 527 17 Ackley Hornet working on the Groundhogs a few years back. These 17s are so much more fun to shoot Groundhogs with then them big boomers!

I've always wanted a 17 squirrel. Maybe someday I'll get around to building one. I'd love one in a revolver. Not sure why, but I want one

17 HMR was snipin em at near 300 last nite. No wind. Tried one at 350, shot up a box of shells and all I did was get close. I love my 17's. I also have a `17 Hornet..

Loaded up all my empty 17 Squirrel cases with Ramshot Enforcer and 20gr V-Max. Groundhogs better go in the hole or be out father than 300 yards!

Now, how do you handle those little bitty bullets without getting you fingers caught between the press ram and the seating die?

17 Squirrel is a nice Walking Groundhog cartridge. Out to 200-225 yards Shots are easy!

Those are huge hogs, makes the rifle look small. Me and my buddy shot some big late summer hogs in southern Ontario, but the groundhogs in northern Ontario are much smaller, maybe because of the shorter summers. Loading those little pills are a pain , but is sure is fun seeing the hits on hogs and crows thru the scope.
