17 rem fireball dies and brass.

hi guys my tikka m595 has gone for rebarrel in 17 rem fireball.

what i wanted to know is the only brass out there remmington brass or are the other companys making the brass for fireball. i ask as i can only see remmy brass over here.

also what is it like ? good brass or does it need much prep work etc.

im thinking of ordering the redding comp seater die bump die and dont know if i should go for redding standard neck die or the bushing die.

what dies do you guys use. is the bushing die really worth it or will the standard neck die be more then upto the job for good reloads.

asthe twist is 1 in 10 on the shilen barrel im looking at using 20 grain vmax and 25 grain berger match bullets. what primers/powders would you recommend please

Remington is the only one that makes 17 Fireball brass currently. In order to get the most out of it you will need to go thru and do full case prep. As far as dies are concerned Redding does make a nice set. I personally like the Hornady dies as well. If you don't already have a .17 cal powder funnel you will want one of those. You can get a very nice .17 cal, powder funnel from the CustomReloadingTools.com website. As far as powder suggestions most guys use H4198. You can also use Reloader 10X and IMR 8208 depending on what weight bullets you are trying to use. A great resource for .17 fireball reloading data is available on the saubier.com forum.

I use both the Redding and Wilson dies. The wilson's are for an arbor press. Both are bushing dies. My barrel was made by MGM and I requested a tight neck so I needed to neck turn. I use 4198 and H322.
If this is your first .17 caliber, keep in mind that lots of tools will require you to get the special sized pilot shafts, pocket reamer, etc.
