17 Hornet

Savage 25, CZ is going to, among others. I have an H&R with a 17hmr rechambered, and PacNor called today, and my barrel will be done for a 77/22H Laminated Varmint.

I have a Savage, synthetic stock. A little rough around the edges, but the price was right and it seems to be a decent shooter so far w/factory ammo: <3/4" in the breeze and am sure I can get it down further after I reduce the trigger pull from almost 3#. No game with it yet, but I spied a scampering groundhog today that didn't realize it could soon have the honor of being the first.
Check with Dick's Sporting Goods in some states. They got the first big batch of the laminated ones. C-Z's are supposed to be out in late Jan. 2013.

A few custom rifles have been built, here's one for sale I saw...

Ruger now has their 77/22 Hornet chambered for the new 17 Hornady Hornet.

A MUCH more attractive rifle than the Savage M25 offering IMO. MUCH more. ;)

I would agree the Ruger is much better looking, but then you could buy a Savage and buy 21 boxes of ammo for the price of the Ruger, and Then you better hope the Ruger is accurate. I've got my homely H&R in .17HH, but I have a 77/22HLSS I bought used like new, and a PacNor chambered and threaded Supermatch 22" .920 barrel that should be here Fri-Mon. I am sending mine to CPC for bolt work and final fitting. I hve a 1.5 lb. JARD trigger for it, and I will have less than list price in it when I am done. The Savage walnut stocked rifle is not too bad to look at, but I am not a fan of the tupperware gun. I have some Hornady dies and some Wilson die blanks ready to meet up with the lathe, so we will see how good it can shoot.

Well today I bought the Rugerr 77/17 Hornet and I'll be darned if I can't find a bolt stop/ release on that thing. It's a different model from the non threaded action of last year and it's not located on the left hand side. Any ideas or am I the first kid on the block with one?

Well, I have a CZ527 Varmint Micro Action in .17 Hornet, and am replacing the Set Trigger with a Timney CZ550 set at 2lb.
NOTE: This trigger does not fit All CZ527's.
Looking for Good Loads for the Hornady 20Gr. pills.
