So, I had this plan to put together a Savage 17 Hornet on a small shank action. I found a Custom small shank barrel, already chambered for 17 Hornet and it also came with matching bolt face. The Barrel was dropped by FedEx and damaged the threads which you might see my post about that. I was able to repair the threads with a 20 TPI thread file. The kicker is that FedEx also lost the bolt face, claim went nowhere! My next hurdle is to find a bolt face to complete this build and I plan to build this gun as a single shot with a follower just to avoid the issues of feed problems and finding a magazine that would work if that even exist. Has anyone else gone down this road. I read somewhere that PTG would make custom bolt face, but looking for reccomendations on other options. If I cant get this build together I might post this barrel and move on to a different project, thanks gang!
