It’s a 218 Bee necked down to 17 caliber with the front shoulder blown forward and out. That’s a simple explanation, someone correct me if I’m wrong.

My buddy shoots a Cooper 17 Hebee. Velocity is close (but not equal) to the 17 Fireball. The cartridge does what its supposed to but parent brass can be hard to come by. Far as I know Hornady is the only company offering 218 brass and availability is spotty.

The old WW brass I have for my 218 bee is pretty inconsistent and doesn't last many firings so I obtained some starline 32-20 as a start for this project, just need a sizing die!

Yep!! 25-20 or 32-20 will work. I have a CPA Schuetzen rifle in 32-20 CPA (necked up to take a .321" bullet).
There are tons of 32-20 brass available these days.

I found a set of dies with brass on GB and they just came so I'm closing out this thread. I appreciate everyone's input and those that reached out along the way. For those interested here's a picture of 218 Bee brass, 17 Hebee, 17 hornet and 22 hornet side by side to give you an idea of the cartridge.



And, of course, a picture of the rifle. I have a lot of projects going on and work is also ramping up, but if I get range time I'll start another thread.
