Hornady list the b.c. at .550. I printed off a g7 ballistics table which said that it should take me 10.1 moa to get to 600 yards with a chrono'd speed of 2900 fps. When I shot yesterday, it took me 11.3. I went back in the program and it said the bullet would have to have a b.c. of around .450 for this to be true. Anybody ever shot these and if so how true did you find the b.c. to published. This was out of a 7rem mag with 67.6gr of h-1000.

Congrats you just discovered one of the major flaws that ballistic programs have. I tried the same thing but have found over time while a computer can give you a good starting point most of them are not right on the money. If you really want to use a computer program to hit targets I would suggest the Nightforce system. Even then it is going to take a whole lotta of practice to realize when the numbers are right or need to be tweaked to the conditions. One other tried and trued option is to shoot year round and keep a DOPE book (Data On Previous Engagement). I finally gave up on quick fix computer programs and went the DOPE book route. Sure it takes a whole lot of shooting to gather the information needed but we could all use a little more practice.

Did you use the actual climate conditions @ the time of shooting for your inputs (temp,RH, Baro Press, wind speeds and direction/s, Altitude). Wind direction alone can easily cause a 1 MOA (vert)shift in impact (a 12 vs 6 o'clock direction)and the variations of those.
