16" barrel 6.5x47

I've done some searching and have read a few threads about short barrel 6.5x47...

Just curious if anyone has one in 16" or 18"
And what velocities they are getting?

I'm looking at building a small compact suppressed build
For hunting.

Thanks!

Search for 6.5x47 xp-100's. I know a couple guys running them in specialty pistols with barrels about that length. I just finished a build for my wife with a 17" barrel. Haven't shot it yet so no hard data from me, but generally speaking going to a barrel that long will normally loose 250-300fps compared to a full length rifle barrel.

When I was working up loads for a 6.5 Creedmoor using 120 and 130 grain bullets in a 15" barreled XP-100 I was loosing around 25 - 30 f.p.s. per inch of barrel over the listed rifle data velocities.

I just had a build finished that is just what you described. 16.5" w/suppressor get 2,615 with a Nosler 120BT and 37.0gr of Varget. Makes for an accurate, quiet, low recoil load. Got plenty of room to speed it up if necessary...
