155 or 175 for tactical match

Ive got a 1 in 10, 26 inch barrel, match range is upto 700yds
my questions are

1. would i be better off with a flatter shooting 155 sierra palma, since its a tactical match errors in range estimation would be less critical

2. will a 1in 10 stabilize a 155 gr sierra palma

3. will a lighter bullet with a higher bc wind drift less?

thks

There is another option for the longer yardages. it's the new Berger 185 gr. HPBT Long Range bullet. It has a whopping .560BC (higher than the 185 VLD even) but is of a Tangent Ogive design so it's not as finiky as the VLD in regard to seating depth. I'm in the process of testing them now and the results look really promising.
If the winds blowing this is a viable option especially at 500 plus yards.

At 700 yards or less there isn't that much of an issue between the two weights.
It ain't the arrow, its the indian.

I went with the 155 Lapuas also. Their speed advantage at 2935 equals or betters the 175's better BC.

The 10 twist will work. I'm using a 11.25" Rock.

You could try the new Sierra 155 (#2156) or the Berger 155, both have better BCs than the old Sierra 155 (#2155). A little less recoil doesn't hurt either for faster follow-ups.

I have a older (1978) factory Winchester Palma gun.. the barrel on this rifle is a 26" 10 twist.. the load it likes.. SIE 2156 (155.5) Palma bullet, with Lapua brass and 47grs of Varget.. just under 1/2 moa.. I am very pleased.. V=2900 fps.
