140 grain 270 help.

Hello everyone, I am new to the forum. I’ve been hunting and shooting for 45 years now here in Alberta, Canada. I have a question for anybody who might be able to give me some advise. I have a Sako A7 that will shoot pretty much anything that I put in it very well. It’s a 270 win. I have recently tried some Hornady Interlok BT bullets in 140 grain, but it just doesn’t seem to like them with anything if tried in it yet. Can someone give me a recipe that has worked well in their 270? Thanks for your advise, stay safe!

I used 160 Barnes bullets in my SAKO 270 when I went to Canadia Moose hunting. Otherwise I exclusively use 130 Nosler Partitions.. IMR 4350. I have found that using 30-06 brass gives me best accuracy. Just run em through your 270 die. And trim if need be. I have also had good luck with IMR4831..

Try a different bullet. I have never had much luck getting the interlocks to shoot well in anything. Try some 140gr Sierra Game Kings or the 140 Berger and some H4831sc or H4350.

I am using H4831sc 57.0 grains with a 140 Nosler Accubond in my Nosler 270 Win and my Savage Axis 270 both producing almost 2900 FPS. Like 2893

Thanks for the tips. I have excellent luck with Hornady Interlok in my 7mm mag, and my 270. Using the 140 grainers in the 270...not so much. 139 grain Interlok out of my 7mm are excellent. Using 68.0 grains of H4831.

150gr Nosler Long Range Accubonds with a stiff dose of H4350, neck sized R-P brass and Fed 210M primers.
