125 grain Speer TNT varmint load for a 308 win

Hey guys, I just picked up a new FN A3g in 308 winchester and I have a bunch of 125 grain Speer TNTs a guy gave me. I was wondering if any of you have a good load that you have used to get me started?
Matt

I have some Varget and some Reloader 15 but I'm out of Benchmark. I was thinking maybe some H-322 might be good als .

Very nice. I have some 748 I just haven't used it much because of reports of it being very temp sensitive.

If you shoot in hot weather back off a grain with 748 and in some cases when using it some companys who list it insist on a magnum primer which I think is a farce but only the engineers really know if mag primers are hotter or not. I have used tons of 748 in the past with regular primers with no problems.

46 grs IMR 4895 CCI BR2 in a WW case with either the 125 Nosler BT or the 125 Speer TNT is very accurate and will run 3000 fps out of my 21 1/2" Heart barrel Rem 700. I use the BT for deer and it is bang flop out to a little over 300 yards so far and have killed around 50 deer with it. I use the TNT on ground hogs and it makes a mess out of them.

I 've been slowly working up a load with 130 gr Hornady sp's . It was sub moa from the git with...
Hornady match brass
CCI LRP
48.5 grs of H4895

I need to acquire a drop tube to up the charge any more.

The 125 TNT is one of my favorite .30 bullets for the .308.

I use W748, Re10, and IMR 8208 with the .308 and 125 TNT. When using W748 I don't let my rifle and ammo bake in the sun. If I had to shoot in 95 degree plus temps - IMR 8208. Generally, I use the cheapest stuff I can get my hands on and that would include the 125 TNT and W748. All these shoot well over 3000 and perform well up to 300 yards.

my best load for 125 tnt's is 46.5gr imr 4895. shoots very well in 700pss and ar10t. chronographs at 3050 from my 26" barrel. hammers coyotes.

i never had any good results with 748.

I tried some 125 grain TNTs Sunday with 50 grains of 748 and they didn't shoot well at all. They averaged around a inch and a half or slightly under. I need to play with them some more. The rifle shot very very well with 175 grain SMKs and 43 grains of Varget and 2.800" OAL. It shot many five shot groups that hovered around 5/8" center to center.

450AK, what twist is your barrel? The 125 TNT's did not do well in my 10T barrel, I had similar results as you. So I'm looking for a 14T or 15T barrel which should stabilize them [one thousand or so] 125's I have a little bit better. I also have a "bunch" of 110gr Hornady's too.
