125 gr nosler accubond

Anybody used these on whitetail and what did you think about the performance? I'm going to put together a 30x47 and either shoot the 130gr Barnes or 125 gr accubond.
Thanks
Chris

I've shot quite a few deer with them. Built a 30 PPC just for shooting them while culling deer. They work fine, accurate bullet that doesn't grenade, opens up decent . I have since changed to the Barnes 130TTSX, the 130TSX works well also. A little more accurate than the 125 and MUCH more lethal. You can put that bullet thru both shoulders if you need to. I would like to tell you that they retain__% of their weight but I've never recovered one yet, even in the 62 gr x 223 loads. All exit with a hole that will leave a blood trail. Only 1 out of MANY have ever taken a step & that one was shot at 250+yds with a 223 x 62gr TSX. It only went 30yds with a good blood trail. Looking back, I wish that I had chambered the barrel in 30x 47 and might yet.

I made youth loads for my son's 308w using 125 Nosler Hunting BT. Worked ok. Small whitetail and the bullet came apart more than I would want but it struck the shoulder blade on the entrance. Dead is dead. I would probably try one of your bullets given a choice. He is now using full strength loads with 150 AccuBonds and they have proven outstanding. Luck, Tim

I have been playing around with the 130gr. TTSX in my .308 light Tactical-20"bbl. With Winchester cases, I still run out of powder space with the usual suspect powders. My accuracy is about 1.25" @ 100yds for 5 shots. With the 150gr. TTSX, I can cover the whole group with a nickel. I know that my accuracy with the 130's is good enough for my intended purpose of whacking pigs in Texas and Florida, It's just me. 8).
Have any of you found an "ear hole" load with these light bullets?

I have a 30X47 the one on the 300 Savage case. I shoot 125 Ballistic tips with 42 grs IMR 4895 for 2850 fps and they kill deer superbly. As long as you keep the 125 ballistic tip under 3000 fps impact velocity it really does fine. I have never seen any of the 125 Accubonds yet. I use the 130 AB in my 264 Win mag and it is a super deer bullet. I use the 125 BT in all my 30 cal stuff for deer. I just killed a BIG body 8 pt white tail deer with my 30-30AI 14" barrel T/C Contender in 30-30AI at 90 yards. He was quartering toward me and I placed the bullet on the front edge of his right shoulder and the bullet exited mid ribcage on the off side. Bullet broke the scapula from the leg bone on entering also. Deer jumped 6 ft high did a little break dance in the air came down and low head ran 25 yard and he was done for.

We've used the 125bt's and my son killed a doe at 280 yrds with it.
First time using them and it done good.
Didn't know they made the accubonds in 125. I'd sure like to find some, we use them in several other cals. and love'em.

I have used them in my 308 and 300 blkout. The blkout was used for coyotes and they pretty much just poked hole in them. The ballistic tips blew apart in the yotes. The 308 was used on whitetail deer my only kill was just less than 100 yards, neck shot, snapped neck deer piled up on the spot.

Being that I make my own 30 cal bullets I have been playing with bonding my own cores. My experiments have been very promising it just depends how hard I push them. I have yet to shoot any animals with them but I hope to soon.
