120 grain nosler ballistic tip in 7mm rem mag?

been messing around with sierra ballistic software. 120 grains in 7mm rem mag? holy s**t looks like its one of the flattest shooting rounds possible? anyone shooting these? how fast did you get them to go.

I played around with some several years ago in my 26" 7mag. If I remember, I was getting just over 3450 with a stiff load of IMR 4350. Shot several deer from 50-300 yards. Worked great. It was alot tougher bullet at that velocity than I would have thought.

A friend shoots them in a 7/08 (~2800) with very good luck.

I shoot them a lot in my 7mm SAUM AI at well over 3500 FPS out of a 30 inch Bartlein barrel...
It tears the local groundhogs UP.....

Try some RL-22 in your 7 mag with the 120 Noslers, you will get some numbers on your chrony that will make you smile. I played around years ago with my 26 inch Winchester 70 with these bullets and they are very flat shooting. I loaded mine with info right out of the Nosler #4 reloading guide. Easy 3500 fps.

I have a friend that shot the 120 BT in a 7 STW. I have no idea how fast it was going but it was moving. He shot a few deer with it and even at 200 or 300 yards the bullet about evaporated on the hair and blew fist size entrance holes and the shrapnel destroyed the vitals. Most of the deer shot were in the 100 to 150 pound on the hoof weight. He stopped using this bullet because he was afraid he would loose a big deer especially if he had to make an other than broad side lung shot.

I put that exact load through my friends savage first 5 shot group was under an inch, he sold the gun 2 weeks later, said it was to much recoil. A shooter like that I would keep no matter what.
I run the 120's out of my 7-08 at a tad over 3100.
