.120 6BR

Came up with reloading dies and reamer for a .120 short 6BR. According to design software its 1.5% smaller than PPC. With the idea of short fat powder column I want to try it. Havnt figured how to form brass as of yet. Has any body out here done it. Thanks.

Afternoon Ray, a tall dog was a 85 short I had a 100 short and 120 short from the Late Jerry Johnson of Garden City, Ks I purchased both his Rifles in 1999 the 100 short shot extremely small groups ! I still have all the stuff to form brass and dies ! More trouble to make brass but they shoot good !

I shot one in the 80’s. It was .100” short though. 220 Russian brass had dried up. The goal was to equal the case capacity of a PPC. I actually beat a lot of PPC’s with mine. I wasn’t intimidated one bit. Neil Jones made me a form die and a set of bushings. It was like 5-6 bushings, then expand, trim, and turn.

I will look and if I still have the form die and bushings I will send them to you for free to try out.

Dave.

Please do it. Give us something interesting to follow. I lean towards these type of experiments myself. A lot has changed since the guys were “forced” to build tall dogs and short swifts. See what happen. I have the Butch Lambert form die set with some extra bushings made by local machinist to go to .14 caliber. You have a nice man offering you the tools to try so all that is left is build money and time.

I dug through all my Neil Jones stuff and I don’t see those form dies anymore. Sorry.

I’m sure Neil could make a set if he doesn’t have a set laying around.
