12 Twist 6 Dasher Pet Loads

I just screwed on a 12 twist barrel onto one of my actions and started playing with the 80 grain Berger FB bullets with N135. Can I get some of you guys dasher loads with the 70-87 grain bullet range?

I ran five shots across the MS V3 and my agg velocity was 3320 fps which seems a bit low so I looking for others pet loads.

I don't know the exact charge of what I did chronograph but I do know 34 grains of VV N135 was a bit hot and had a stiff bolt lift.

My input and suggestions:
A typical 6Dasher is improved by about 3-grains over a 6mmBR (you could measure your volumes to see how yours compare).
Add 3 grains to any 6mmBR data (Berger's Reloading Manual, etc..) and proceed.
Run a ladder test over your chronograph, starting low to high, and you will see all the velocity potentials to each charge ratio, the accuracy nodes (slow ones and fast ones), as well as find your rifles unique max pressure.
Read the primers, case stretch, and extraction as you go up, stopping when/if you are getting pressure signs.
For me, someone else's data does not tell me much and proves nothing in my own rifles.

I ran 35gr.+ grain of Varget (long drop tube) for both 70gr. and 80gr. Nosler Ballistic tips. The 70's were going 3690 and the 80's were at 3550.

James Im running a 6BRDX 12 twist with 80gr Bergers and 33.8gr vv135 getting 3410 velocity. I've got up to 34.4 but was just to hard on brass

Donavan,

I understand your load or any pet load of others will or may not be safe or work in my rifle. What I'm seeking is basically what powders are being used with success and what velocities are they obtaining. From there I can work with those powders and work my loads up accordingly from a safe starting point. I felt as if my load was a bit slow and I wanted a comparison of what I can expect with the 6 Dasher with a 12 twist barrel and the 80 grain range of bullets. I appreciate your time and help, I will look into the Berger reloading manual for reference.

Thanks for the info, I'm guessing based on how many clicks I backed off of from 34 grains today that I'm right at 33.6 grains with the vv135

I may try a slower powder such as vv140 and see what accuracy and velocities I get using that powder.

my BRDX is 8 twist but it will shoot the 68 Berger at 3650 with around 35 grs Benchmark and will stay on an egg at 300 pretty good,,busted 12 in a row last Sunday

I have a 10 twist dasher it likes 33 gr 0f reloader 15 with 80 grain nosler going right at 3400 fps. also likes 33gr h322 with 68gr berger target at 3580fps. 12 twist shouldnt be much different.
