I have a T2K, chambered for the 6XC, shooting the 115DTAC @ a chronoed 2879fps. I have almost 250 rounds through the barrel. Now that I am more familiar with shooting the rifle I thought I would test it out on coyotes. My assumption was that the heavy target bullet would almost act like a full metal jacketed bullet. Boy was I surprised. I shot the coyote at the 1:30 position, just behind the right shoulder) and the bullet exited at the 7:30 o'clock...I think. I could not tell, as the entire offside of the coyote was missing. It looked like he had swallowed a hand grenade. All soft tissue, possibly a rib on the way in. Distance was a lasered 128 yards, with about a 15 degree down angle. I guess with a 7.5" twist it doesn't matter how the bullet is constructed. Things are gonna happen. Anyone else have this result with the 115DTAC bullet on flesh?
I am/was thinking about using the 105Amax for hunting deer and mountain lion, but am wondering if I will get the same results as the 115DTAC? I need a more fur friendly bullet, for this rifle. With the 7.5" twist am I looking in vain? Granted, one hot day does not make a summer, but..... bcott
