115 DTAC's and 6mmDasher

Has anyone done research with the 115 Dtac's in the Dasher with RL15? I have worked up to 30.7gr (CCI450) and I am curious to see what others have tried,.. and what velocities were obtained.

I use 33 gr. RL i5 jumped .014, .001 NT. and the primer is cci.450. The 115's are sorted by bearing surface the trimmed and pointed. Shoots in the ones at 2900.......jim

33 grains,... wow,... in my rifle,.. that would come close to locking the bolt up with a 115.

I'm using a Bartlein .236 bore 1 in 7.8 twist. 30.7gr of RL15 shoots very well and lets me operate the bolt smoothly on the bags,.... but it makes a moderate amount of pressure,.... so there isn't much headroom above above 31gr. (Lawton 7500 with an ejector)

Actually, shooting this barrel even with 105 VLD's, pressure comes on faster than most other barrels I have seen. Freebore is aprox. .120". Where most people can run 32.5 to 33gr of RL 15, this barrel will cause me to have to bump the shoulder everytime if I load at this level. As I mentioned, it is a .236" bore, and it does make more pressure, quicker than other tubes I have owned. I have a Pacnor 3 groove (same reamer) that has no problem with 32.5gr and a 105 VLD. My understanding from speaking with many of my customers is this is a very common observation. (huge variations between different 6mm bores and how they behave with a given "accepted" load) At 30.7gr of RL15, this rifle shoots 115 DTAC's in the mid .2's scary consistent,... albeit a bit slower than where most people are shooting them.

My free bore said on the print .136 but checked on the comparator it shot it to be .128. i think you should be in the .150 range, and i have a .237 bore. My next reamer will be at least .150+, and they shoot small......jim

Yes, same load as above. Now make sure it's a 1 in 8 twist, your on the edge it will work.Today won a 1000 yd. match at Reade with a dasher....jim

I have shot the 115 Berger in my Dasher in many 600 yd club shoots in Memphis.
It is a score match and I have had success with it. It has an advantage in wind drift especially when pointed. I have shot prarie dogs to 1394 yd with the 115. I much prefer a pointed 115 past 1000.
Long throat, 7 and 7.5 twist, and 33.0 gr RL 15 work for me.
