115 custom bullets in 308 win

what loads for this bullet and what twist?thinking of using it for groundhogs.that 300 mag that is in the blogs that shoots to 4000 fps seems rteal impresive but i can not see it for me.i was hoping to use a 26 in barrel and my shillen dga action.any information is welcomed one way or the other.

Hodgden Varget and a 17 twist.

Have had great results on rockchucks & other vermin with my .308 tossing several different varmint bullets:

110 gr Sierra HP
110 gr Hornady V-Max
125 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip
130 gr Speer HP

That last one, the Speer, has been available about forever and is one heck of a bullet in either the .308 or the .30-06. Back when all Dad and I had were a pair of .30-06's and a .22 rimfire we burned up a bunch of those 130's. I still respect their accuracy and the rather impressive results on target.

Forgot to mention - normally I use a Rem 700 with a 1:12 twist, 24" Krieger. Have also scoped my Palma rifle and used it with a 1:13 twist 30" Krieger.
