Back before 2010 I was shooting a lot of 115 Bergers in a 7 twist Brux. I had a 30" HV and a 26" no taper barrel. This last week I decided to revisit that project and see if I could get the 115's tuned again in my Dasher.
Plan comes together
Last Monday I took 12 rounds to the range with 32.5 gr of Norma 203-B which is right beside RL-15 on most powder burn rate charts.. Installed NF comp scope. Bore sighted. First shot on paper and I dialed the scope in. Next 5 shots drilled one hole, or actually all shots touching. Felt great now, but would it hold at 800 yds. Nope. 7 inches of vertical.

I had two shells left and moved down to 700 yards where I had a hostage taker plate. First shot missed at 12 noon, so next shot I held at 6 and hostage taker was dead.
Wednesday I loaded 10 rounds at 32.8 gr and went to the Dome. One shot was right on at 100 so I went to 800. Still 5" of vertical. Went to 1200 and vertical was bad.

Friday I loaded 10 rounds at 33.0 and went to the DOME. One shot at 100 yd was perfect. Now to 800 yd. Still Vertical but down to 4". I had Steve Perry from Scottsville with me. With two shells left I told him to try the hostage taker with the 115's. He killed the hostage taker.
On Saturday I loaded four rounds at 33.2 gr and returned to the DOME. Temp in 50's light drizzle occasionally. No sighter at 100. Only had four rounds. Four cold bore shots went into 2.5-3 inches of vertical. Now she is 800 yard worthy.
