just bought a few boxes of these to try out in my Savage 12 6mmbr and the initial ladder test looked very promising. at 100 yds with RL15 I had nodes around 28.3 and 29.3 giving better than .5MOA 3 shot groups. this weekend I'll be shooting a larger sample of these loads out to 200 yds to see what groups better. All, so far, have been seated about .005 off the lands. Just wondering if there's a consensus "best" seating depth, generally, such as jammed, or well off the lands.

When I had a factory barrel on my Savage 12 6mmBR I found the 107 SMK work best jumping .012. That was with 30gr of Varget.

Whenever i grab some 107 MK's to load, i always start at .010 off the lands, find the powder charge node and fine tune seating depth. Usually anywhere from .005 to .020 off the lands is my experience with the 107's.

I have had 2 6brs and 4 Dashers that all like them best at around a .030 jump. I think a lot of guys don't seat that deep in their testing and never find that node. Good luck to you

Did you actually try it at 1000 yards on paper? I shot 5 and 10 shot groups with Dashers at 1000 yards and in was better. More round and smaller groups. My two buddies testing showed the same thing in their guns. Testing at 100 or 200 yards didn't show that. Matt

I have never shot it past 600, our varmint matches are 100,300, and 400 and works well for that

For 1000 yd shooting with a 6BR, the 107's tend to like .0015-.0020" off the lands best in most of my rifles. I've found as a rule SMK's like to jump .0010-.0025" in general.

My wife's 6Br is an 8 twist Mcgowen and prefers everything just touching the lands. She is currently shooting 105 Berger VLDs into half moa or better at 600 and groups in the .2s at 100 with 30.3gr of Varget.
