I was wondering if sierra has addressed the different ogive/baring surface lengths for the 107 6mm bullets. I am thinking about buying 500 or so but if they are still like they used to be i will have to sort every one of them. I would have 5 or 6 different barring surfaces in the same lot, or box or 500. Are they still this way? Lee

I bought a box of 500 after seeing Greg Culpeppers shooting skills at the earlier Piedmont matches, and the fact he was using Sierra 107`s. I was sorting these and went through the first 100 without a cull. .001" or less was my qualifier. They shoot great too. I`m so glad there is an option to the Berger line with all the changes they are forcing on us. From my purchases of those lately, mostly poor changes to the VLD line. I work in a reloading department at a store here and am ordering all the 107`s I can get hold of for our shelfs. I can put many Berger 105 VLD`s in your hands if needed >:(

I know that sorting 107 SMKs seems like an extra, laborious step. That said, I have shot some of my best scores and highest X counts with that bullet.

It is hard for me to not load that bullet when I am headed to a match. Results speak for themselves.

Folks swear by the 105 Bergers. I have had good luck shooting them right out of the box, but X counts have been lower than with the sorted SMKs.

Just my .02!

I prefer Berger, but I sort them just like I would Sierra or Nosler. I believe that Berger just makes a better bullet.
