105 Lapua scenar-L instead of Berger 105 hybrids

So I can not get my hands on any Berger 105’s and haven’t been able too in months, but found 1000 lapua 105’s scenar-L. I’ve never shot them, and they are much lowe BC. Is it worth picking them up or just keep waiting and looking

Don't be swayed by the lower BC#'s of Lapua bullets.
I've shot various varieties of Berger bullets in my 6.5, but none of them shot inside the scenar for me.
I shoot the 105’s in my creed ans recently acquired a bra as well. so was hoping to stock up a bit but just can’t find the bullets. When I found the scenar I was stoked until I realized the bc. Would hate to buy 1000 and they don’t shoot as well plus loose the bc.

I had a dream the other night of walking into a shop and finding Lapua 105's.

Just a dream, make do with Hornady 105's and what Sierra TMK's I have remaining. My local manufacturer is waiting for J4 jackets... season starts in about 7 weeks...might just have to shoot FTR.

The best groups I have ever shot out of my 6BR and my Dasher both came with the 105 Scenar L bullet. I would not hesitate to buy them. Two rifles and four barrels aren't a fair comparison for accuracy determination of a bullet - but the Scenar puts them into the smallest groups I have ever shot - and I had previously shot the 105 Bergers in many times the numbers as good as they are. I had also shot many of the regular Scenar 105's - and also did not get quite the accuracy.

Ignore the BC on this bullet - same goes for the 7mm 180gr - these things are so ridiculously consistent you don't even need to consider sorting them.

Lots of bullets claim to have a certain BC, but it doesn't matter unless the BC is consistent for very single bullet in your box.

I never had the L type bullets from Lapua. Are all the meplats pretty consistent?

Not to mention the BC on the box is usually off a good bit.

Current bullet I am shooting was WAY lower....till I trimmed and pointed. Now I'm .002 off published G7 BC. I found that interesting. I'm learning as I go and new... But seems super consistent and seemed to really make a difference in hits. I'm a steel shooter. I know at 1k it takes .75moa or so less to hit with trimmed and pointed.

The old 105 Scenar is an excellent bullet, and now even more consistent out of the box in 'L' production form.

The only thing to watch is that not all 6mm barrels like them as they're around a half-thou' smaller diameter than Bergers. See

on the main site.

Well that was the case with the pre-'L' version. Lapua may make the 'L' a tad fatter - I don't know as I've never measured (or shot) the later variant.

Like I said, I don't even consider sorting these bullets they are so consistent - very forgiving and accurate.

it is probably batch specific but over the years the various batches of both standard lapua 6mm 105's and 105's L i have used all measured to be around .2433" to .2434".
All have provided very satisfying accuracy in 600yd and 1000yd BR matches .

I was so impressed with some of the Lapua Factory loaded ammo with Scenar Projectiles, that I also started using them in the 6mm and like them very much. Was using mostly Bergers. But then Andy turned me on to the Sierra 107 Tipped Projectiles.
