105 hybrids and imr 4007 ssc

anyone shooting this combo in a 6BR? if so, how does it work. if not the hybrid, how about the hunting vlds?

I tried it in my 6br with regular 105vlds and my muzzle velocity dropped at least 200fps from around 2880 down below 2700 got the load off the 6br page on this site, shots all over the place. Maybe i got a bad bottle of powder but didn't like it at all.

Tried it in my 1-8 Hart with the Berger 105 hunting VLDs. Jam, jump, neutral, two tenths increments with a two grain spread. One inch groups. May work with other guns or other bullets but no luck with mine.

29.5 grains of Varget 105 A-Max .012 jump 2676 fps,out of a 26in. Hart barrel,5 shot groups @100yds in the low two's and killed groundhogs @ 800 yards this spring it is not the fastest thing going but man is it deadly accurate....

Why not strive for accuracy and velocity? They are not mutually exclusive. My 6BR load with 105 Hybrids and H4895 delivers both.

havent tried it with the hybrids but the hunting vlds shot very well with the load listed on the 6br load page. it was going 2800 fps

i dont chase velocity--i want consistency and accuracy. although my load that i am shooting with the hunting vlds and varget is near max, but that is also what it shot the best at.

Even though my cartridge is very close to your 6BR, my slightly smaller 6AR is accurate almost to a fault with Berger, JLK’s or Lapua 105 gr. pills. 27.7gr. of H-4895 will give me 2,750 fps. +- 3-5 fps. every day and will shoot “clean” at 600 yds. if I do my part, and this is out of a gas rifle! Some day, just for grins, I’m gonna chamber a bolt rifle up in this cartridge just because I’m curious to see it’s true capability.

ryan, i guess you could load up some hybrids and some 4007 ssc for the fall match and i will shoot my normal load with varget and hunting vlds and have a side match between the 2 6BRs.
