105 gr bergers

Hey all, I have a6mm br reamer from PTG with a .060" lead, do you think I should try the 105gr bergers first or throat it for the 105gr amax? It will be for long range p-dogs and I do the work myself so there is no gunsmith cost. I think I know the answer but need to here it from somebody else. Thanks, SPM

The 6BR reamers I've used/owned have been from Pacific Tool & Gauge. One has .113" of free bore and the other has .103" of free bore. They're both set up for the 105/107 in an eight twist. Free bore of .060" should work with the longer bullets but, you'll have more bullet seated in the case and that takes away from powder capacity.

The reamer you have seems a little short, but it should still work out OK.
The 105 naked Berger is a flat out shooter. I like the 105 A-max but the Berger will 9 times out of 10 out shoot it.......
I was about to pull a 8 twist 6br barrel until I loaded the 105 Berger in it, and the barrel is still in place and shooting great.......

.060 freebore is fine for the 105VLD's I have such a setup in one of my competition 6BR's and it shoots very well.
My other rifle has a .104 freebore, also a 6BR) and I cannot see any difference in accuracy between the two.
