105 Berger vld VS 105 Amax in 243 Winchester

Can any of you here tell me the results you have seen shooting both of these popular long range bullets ?? Distance of use in my rifle is 800 to 1000 yards.. Velocity with the Amax is 2980 fps in my 24 inch 1 in 9 twist barrel...TIA...Mike In Ct

In my experience, the 9" twist will not be enough for the Berger 105-VLD.
While the AMax have worked even in 10" twists for me, the VLD's always had excessive yaw from anything slower twist then 8" for me. And actually prefer a 7.75" twist the best for 105-VLD's.

105vld's stabilized fine in my last 9 twist 243w but long range accuracy was not as good as from my 8 twist barrels.

You're better off with the 105amax in your 9 twist.

Damn guys, I just can't get those 105 Amax bullets to shoot in my 9 twist. Tried all but a mag fit oal. Been loading around 2.875-2.925. Tried several powders and variant load weights. ???
