103 KHP

So far this has all been word of mouth at matches. We have been making the Roy Hunter 103 6mm bullet for a couple years. It has been a very successful bullet percentage wise. Theres plans to add more to the line up as well. Theres a healthy back log but if you want to try some give Kristina a call 406 660 2752. KHP 103 is what we call them.

Coincidence you would mention this today. I had a new barrel with 40 rds through of break in. Had top score at the Manatee Club 600 shoot today using Roys (KHP103) bullets loaded for an older barrel.

Interesting was I did not test them in any way. After the shoot found out I was doing a .035" jam. Glad there was no call to unload the rifle or I would have pulled the bullet and dumped powder all through the action.

Will test next.

If you could make a custom 6mm bullet that is heavier than 105 grn
And has a BC of higher then .570 (preferably .600 or more)
That would be great to add to your line up
One reason I dont even shoot the 103 VP's is the BC just aint there
regardless of how consistent they may be

Now I know your secret you ole sandbagger.

I've been shooting KHP bullets since day one, I actually placed my 5K order with Roy and that's when Kristina and Alex took over and started making them, I believe I was one of the early KHP customers, it is an easy to tune great shooting bullet and super consistent and to prove my point here's last two 1K Nationals I shot KHP bullets in my BRA

2024 Harry Jones LG 3 target agg - 3.107"

2025 Williamsport LG 3 target agg - 3.968"

Good Luck with that I played around with some forms today and with a 1.200 j4 and a 21 secant ogive and weighing 115 grs. doesn't even make it to .600 B.C. @ 3000f.p.s. at least not with a lead core perhaps if you went to tungsten with higher weight

.580 is fine, how close did ya get?
I mean I like things like Lapua 105's and sierra 107's but comapred to a 115 Dtac's BC
Why would I shoot something with that much less BC unless its only up to 600 yards
(Im an ELR shooter mostly so 600 yds is more of a warm up/load test range, so want the highest BC possibly available)
Just the .527 range doesnt cut it
otherwise I'll just use a 7mm if I cant get at least close to .600 BC
Dtac BC is .620 so I know you can get closer!!! I believe in you
I think they are Tipped like the Sierra 107 is now, Sierra 107 has went up in BC too just due to that
even a Berger 115 BC is .568 sooooo, I dont understand the difficulty
-----------
BTW tungsten is a great idea, I am also a welder so use Tungsten for TIg, Tig rods can be bought at different diameters

@ELR LVR Those of us that shoot 6mms at 1,000 yard Benchrest keep going back to this "class" for a reason, but we measure groups so? Most guys just go larger bore if we want some ballistic gains to be competitive when scoring AND measuring groups. I've played with the heavies a couple different times, and they do hang on the center a tad better....but not enough better for what we give up imo.
