1000 yard info in Oklahoma and North Texas

Anyone have any info on 1000 yard F class competitions or simply places to shoot in Oklahoma or North Texas? I've got a group of about ten guys who would love to compete and we're tired of bouncin around to different pastures to shoot. Last time we all shot together, we had the firing line on one property across the neighbors to one of our friends places. The owner in between wasn't too comfortable with that setup. Lol! We're all pretty competent at hitting the x ring pretty often and just need a good place to shoot.

That is sooooo not what I wanted to hear! Lol! That's ok. I was plannin on hittin up Bayou rifle club in houston. Just wanted to find something closer.

Bayou is a 10 hour round trip from my house, about 45 miles north of Tyler. But it's worth the drive. They are good guys to shoot with.
If 600 yards will work, Carthage is a fun range to shoot.

Yes, out next LR match is on September 2nd. We got rained out for the last two LR matches, let's hope the September match is dry(er.)

What do you mean by "hit them up between now and sept 2" ?

Just show up by 7:30AM with $20 in hand. I will hand you a little card to fill out with your info. If you have an NRA classification card that would be great or else I'll squad you in Master/Unclassified.

There is Mid-range shooting the first weekend of every month in Carthage, Texas.

Most of the Texas State Rifle Team shoots there. It would be awesome to have some more F-class shooters.

By their schedule - Houston has a Palma match on Sept 1. F-class can shoot it. Palma Saturday and 1k Sunday.

Gunny, you can also come down in October and shoot the Texas Long Range Championship. Two days of shooting against some of the best shooters in the Country. There might be a team match as well on Friday, so it's 3 days of shooting. Bayou Shooter will know more about that.

The TSRA LR match is October 4-7 at Bayou Rifles. This is run by TSRA's Richard Curry and he wants a team match on Friday, 10/5. You can find the match info at https://www.tsra.com/index.php?option=com_weblinks&view=category&id=92&Itemid=150

Also, we have the regular LR Match on Sept 2. The October match is on September 28th to make room for TSRA. The LR Club championship is on Nov 4 and the final match of the year is on December 2.
