1000 yard benchrest loads

once you find your load, how many rounds do you load at a time? 50,100 or more?
or do you load enough for just one match ? I would assume you would load the minimum so you can chase the lands.

I agree with the others saying load one match at a time. As the temperature changes your tune may as well.

I can't load for 1 match at a time. I travel at least 425 miles to a shoot and it is a 4 match weekend., I plan on shooting every relay and every shootoff....so....min of 160 rounds for my hg and 120 for LG. BUT, in case something goes wrong with the HG I load extra for my LG...so 200 for it.

For a single match I load 75. For a two day match I load 150. For a four day match I load 300. If I think I might run into enough erosion on a multi day match to put me out of tune I can always seat a little long then do final seating after I measure erosion at the end of the day.

That is a lot of ammo!!
In the event you have left over how do you Handel that?
How many pieces of brass total for each gun? If you load 300 for a 2 day match weekend and don't shoot them all do you just save them for next time? Or break them down and reload for next match? Do you have more than the 300 pcs for if?

As to the amount of ammo needed for 1000-BR, depends what format and sanctioning.
There's 3 formats to the IBS, 1 to NBRSA, and 1 to Penn-1000, all different.
Plus there is the 2 National formats and the World (3 more different formats / 8 in total).
Without knowing what format and sanctioning, it tells me nothing how many rounds one loads.
Just saying......

For a double match on a weekend in IBS with a relay win and a shoot off for 4 matches light and heavy, I loaded 200 plus my left over rounds from the match before that allows for all the shoot offs and being shot on 4 times...... jim

I shoot NBRSA. I need 15 record rounds for light gun and 30 record rounds for heavy gun, plus 3-5 sighters for each the six relays. I need that for each day of the match, so 75 rounds per day.

I would only load 150 for a two day match. At best I usually will only have a dozen left over and I will usually use them as sighters for the next match.

10 shots per match plus 6 sighters 16 x 4 is 13, so 13 is what u needs
that's how it is at Williamsport, travel 200 miles and shoot for 15 min and go home, i sort of lost interest in that game, more fun and more shooting at the 200-300 and 500 or 600yds events
