100 grn .243 Interbonds from a 22" 9.25 with IMR 4350?

Have a Stevens 200 with a 22" barrel and the 9.25 twist.

If I want to shoot the 100grn Interbonds with IMR 4350 what charge should I be looking at?

For the 100 gr bullets I used in my .243 I started with ~40.0 grs of IMR 4350 and worked up in 0.5 gr changes until I got the group I wanted. Any time you are higher than 44.0 grs you are in NO MANS LAND with IMR 4350 in the .243 and 100 gr bullets.

Thanks for the reply. I've been working up slowly and so far 41grns is shooting well. I'll try 41.5 and 42 tomorrow weather permitting.

I've been following your progress since you bought this Stevens.
My best suggestion is learn to use an Audette ladder test if you have 200yds available. 200yds is good enough.
These tests are not perfect. They will show you where your rifle wants to shoot under ideal bore fouling conditions in correlation with harmonics. The object then is to discern if your particular barrel can shoot this specific powder under those specific fouling conditions long enough to make you happy.
Sounds absolutely crazy I know. It does work though.
Fouling condition of the bore is IMO the preminent cursor to accuracy. Get the right powder for your barrel at the correct powder charge and everything else after that is easy.
The best part is you'll spend so much less time and money at the range shooting loads that may or may not work.
As for your IMR -4350 with 100gn pills. My gut feeling is you need to go higher yet. Use due caution of course. This is just my gut feeling on using IMR-4350 with 80gn Bergers.
FWIW My Savage dialed in nicely with HBN coated 80gn Bergers at 47.0 gns of IMR-4350 both in the ladder test and one set of groups. Its pretty hot but doable with my gun. Haven't cleaned the barrel since. I'll try that charge weight again. I will not put more than a dry patch down the tube ubtil I have that load dialed in and that includes seating depth tests. If accuracy falls off during this testing than fouling is an issue. I need my guns to shoot at least 100 rds without cleaning.
Note that I'm using HBN 80gn coated pills. I've yet to determine what if any effect they have on pressures and max loads.

By the way, I opined that you should'nt bed the action until you had a baseline of accuracy to go by when you first got the rifle. You should have that by now and a Stevens definately could use a good bedding job. ;)
