Looking for 10 rd, AR-10 mags (my gas rifles are LR 308 DPMS compatible) that will handle bullets seated out to COAL 2.860”. I have a few 20 round mags from LaRue Tactical that handle these long cartridges and function great but they are pricey @ $149 for a two-pack. Also, I think 10 round mags would handle better on some PRS stages, but LaRue doesn’t make these in a 10 rd size. My Pmags, Lancer AW-7s, or D&H Tactical steel mags don’t work for these longer loads.

How much material needs to be removed from a standard P mag?

It would be super easy to take a narrow but longer narrow end mill to remove a clean channel. You could use a cheap, very cheap drill press for this. To hold it just use some 2x4's and clamps. Down and dirty but would work.

Just got home. The DPMS magazine measure 2.840, and that's no wiggle room.

Thanks for checking it. The twenty rounders are bigger than desirable but are not hanging down below the bottom of my grip so they aren’t as bad as I thought they would be. Ten would be better, but they are okay.

C -Products steel mags I have are right at 2.865"
milled a cutout and run 2.910" max COAL. If ya want more length use a carbide mill to mill .040 off the barrel extension...more OAL... mill mag well and barrel extension, rework feed ramps 3" with cutout Mags hold about 8 rds of long 308 cartridges in your AR.
