10/22's and Bench Rest

Here is a gun that ABRA Customs has been messing with. We took a McMillan straight line stock inletted it for a 10/22. It is not a perfect fit but it works just fine.
We bedded front and back, we are only running a single action screw. We took the barrel that I won at the Triple Crown which was a 4 groove Douglas put our chamber in it and chamfered it, and put it to work.

I was able to tune it in about 15 minutes, with our PRX II tuner, after tuning set the flags and the clock started shooting an ARA card.
I was pleasantly surprised from the get go. I thought that I would share some pics of the gun and the card I shot.

I'd say that's pretty DAMN nice shootin, especially for a 10-22 semi-auto. May I suggest you give Midas+ or better yet, Federal Ultra Match UM22 a try.

We are going to give this rifle a try at our ABRA match this weekend, to see how it preforms in a competition situation. I will keep you posted.

Joe

Well, here are the match cards for the first actual match with the new rifle.

Joe took second place with his new build. The gun up to this match had only been on the bench for testing 1 time, 1 card.
His agg was a 195 in this match.
His Cards were 195,196,194
Ken Finley took 1st place shooting an ABRA custom build with a 196. ABRA Match.JPG ABRA Match.JPG 100_2500.JPG

OK, so the next match that Joe shot his new build in, was IR 50/50. He had tough competition going up against two well know ARA shooters.
Jack Harper and Les Williams. He took 3rd place with his new rifle. I would say that was a pretty good night of shooting.

Next will be ARA match on August the 20th so we will see how it compairs.

Thanks
Lisa

Well. I said I would post again after our ARA match, and I am sad to say that Joe was not able to shoot his new build last night. The new scope that he put on the new build would not adjust properly and will be going back to the manufacturer for a replacement.

He ended up pulling out Hammer Time and went to town on most of us with it. He took 2nd place in the ARA match. Here are the scores
