10-22??

Somewhere I saw a post about venting the gasses on a Ruger 10-22. Anybody know about this?

I don't understand the question, would you clarify what you are asking please.

someone had written about a vent hole on side of semi auto 22 to let gas build up escape like on bolt action rifles. I didn't think it would work because you need the blow back pressure to operate semi 22 bolt.

Vent is on the left side of the receiver in the upper corner to allow gas to escape AFTER the expended case is ejected, allows dirt to be blown out as with some Stevens with slots cut in the left side of the receiver.

Interesting; I pulled out one of my 10/22s and could not find a gas vent hole in the receiver in the upper left corner. I always thought the 10/22 vented out the ejection port. Guess it's time to pull one out of the stock and get out the magnifying glass.
