10-22 scope

I am looking for a better scope for my 10-22. I need it to have target knob, AO and be able click up and return to zero. I would like to keep as low in cost as I can.

Mark,
We need more info. What is the range you intend to shoot at and more importantly, the main purpose of the rifle! That info would better help in recommending which scope give you the best bang for your buck.

A variable power will work for off hand and bench..Plinking or competition...Two of my shooting buddies have Osprey that are bright and track very well...Prices run from less than 100.00 to 225.00 for 10x40x50 30mm tube...Side focus available....Side focus is actually paralax adjustment....For a 22 a 4x16x40 or a 6x18 will be fine...LT

I am looking for something for longrange rimfire 100 to 200 yds. This gun will be used for everyhing, hunting, steel matches, etc. I have a low end Simmons 6x24 now. It does not click very well. I would like to stay with 6x20 to 24 power.

Hi Mark,
Heres something to consider...a Mueller 8-32X44 Scope. I have two of them on various rifles. For the money, they are hard to beat. Most places sell them for $249.95, but heres a website for a place in Texas (I believe) that sells them for $229.95 www.opticstore.com . Makes for a great scope and has great clarity. Just a model to consider. BTW, I shoot mostly @ 100 yds. Something you should
also consider if you go with a Mueller, is that is has a "tighter" adjustment allowance than some of the other manufacturer scopes. By that I mean they take more "clicks" to make adjustments and the overall correction distance is smaller. I might go 4 - 6 clicks on one of my Leupolds or Nikons, but have to go 8 - 10 on my Muellers. They just have a tighter range of adjustments. That tighter range information was provided to me by the Mueller company itself.

The Truglo 6-24 x 44 is a good scope with everything you want. Natches Shooters Supply has them, with your choice of reticles, for about $60-65. I have one and like it quite a bit, as do several other guys in my gun club. A lot of scope for the money.

If you feel like splurging, the Weaver V24 would be a good choice. You can buy one of these for the price of only 5 Truglo's if you shop carefully (Killough shooting Supply has 'em for $335.) ;D

The Weaver V16 is also a good choice for a bit less $$.
