+1" on Shank End of Rem Varmint Contour

Any opinions on Pros/Cons of having an exrta 1" at the shank end of a Remington Varmint Contour barrel in 6.5x47?

Pros:
weight (if you are looking for it)
Standard inlet - easy to order and easy to swap stocks.

Cons:
weight (if you are not looking for it)
Non standard inlet, but standard inlet can be opened up.

Pro= If you are looking to set back the bbl. In the caliber you mentioned, you would have to shoot a lot and/or real fast to burn up the throat.
Con=+1 to several other posters as to the weight.
