I had to have the rabies shots after handling 2 wounded coyote, the virus entered my left eye via my hand. Numbness/pain in my face about 8-9 days after contact. I was lucky the virus followed a nerve down my face, instead of into my brain(which is fatal). As it took a couple days for doctors to consider rabies as possible, so I was 14-15 days into before treatment. I had to have a brain MRI before shots were started, as once lesions show up it is too late to treat.

Not fun at all! I’ve been through the rabies treatment myself from a friend taking in a stray cat ,gammaglobulin shot in both butt cheeks and both shoulders several rounds in each not too bad at first very painful near the end.
