1/21, 600 yard IBS Benchrest Match Bridgeville, DE

can you give me more information? I was looking at the web site but could not find any information.
I have never competed, so as much detail as possible would be great.

Having not competed before is no problem. We will likely buddy you up with someone for the day and you'll be fine. We can help you with setup, sighting in and get you on target and the rest is
all fun from there.

Your rifle/rifles will determine what class you will shoot in. Over 17 lbs. heavy class, under 17 lbs. light class, we run a factory class as well. The course of fire is the same for all classes. You would be well served to bring 35 to 40 rounds per gun as we shoot 4 record targets per class @ 5 shots each during the match and you can fire sighters before each record target.

Registration begins at 8:00 am. Richard Timmons, the Match Director and his team put on a good match and a fine meal to boot at the end of the event. The club is on Rifle Range Rd. off of Rt. 13 in Bridgeville, DE.

PM if you wish and we can share a phone call.

Thanks Jerry,
I am currently using a tikka .223 and have a pretty good load made up with the 77smk's. I only have access to a 200m range so going to 600 would be a challenge.
What kind of equipment would I need?

I was thinking about coming out to one of the competitions to check things out and to see how things work.

If you have a handle on the velocity of your load, go online and use jbm ballistics to calculate your come-up for 600 yds. Even without, we'll get you on paper in 2 shots or less. No worries! We'll teach you how to boresight at 600 yds!

As for equipment, bring with you what you are comfortable with for shooting off of a bench. The goal is for you to enjoy your experience and operate in a safe manner..…..aaaaand get rounds on paper.

Bridgeville has "live pits" and that means there are people marking your sighter shots with a spotter disc on the sighter target after each round is fired and that's a great way to break into the long range game.

Jerry

Sure, come on out and bring something to shoot. Just watching a match is like watching grass grow. The Factory Class is a great way to get started. I'll be bringing a new shooter out too. It will be his first time shooting Factory Class 600 yard BR. It should be a great weekend to shoot as long as the forecast holds. See Ya Sunday. Ken

Well, we can bring stuff to shoot, but my buddy just picked up his rifle last week and has not shot a thing out of it and I just changed my stock and have not shot anything out of it.

Luv seein new guys gettin involved, having Fun, and Coming Back!
That's what it's all about.
Welcome to your new addiction...

Heck Joe, I didn't make top 3 in light. A guy that I loaned my gun to got 3rd in heavy for group. Not bad for his first match ever and shooting fireforming loads!
Great day on the DelMarVa!
Jerry

Must be the BRA is going to work just fire Forming unlike the Dasher! I still may try fire forming the dasher on a target at 1000 just to see what happens.
